OBLIGATORY HATE MAIL #6
It’s that time again. I got enough Hate Mail to combine it all into a new article for you guys to enjoy. Can you possibly guess who it’s from and what it’s about? No? Well, all will become clear very soon.
Angry BroOctober 29, 2013 at 6:10 am:
You dumbass motherfucker. Pewdiepie is da best. [You guys see what I mean?]
You are only jealous of him because you’re not famous nor can you do better videos that him.
Wow, I can’t believe nobody’s tried to pull this argument yet.

Dude. i think your humor is the british type of humor. and BTW that list you made… those are all movie stars. look. Pewdipie, Smosh, Wonderwoman and all the other funny Youtubers that is all american humor. look i may not be British but Yogcast is actually pretty damn Funny.
Okay, we need to get a few things clear here.
Firstly, even though I certainly enjoy British comedy, what exactly is “British” about preferring jokes and/or commentary with an actual thought process behind them? Are you implying that the only comedy Americans are good at is childish gross-out humour and just being plain annoying? This argument falls flat for two reasons:
1. There ARE American comedians who are actually smart and funny.
2. PewDiePie is SWEDISH!
Also, the list of people I actually envy is not a list of movie stars. BadLipReading is a YouTuber; Adrian von Ziegler is a composer; Neal Stephenson, Douglas Adams and Dave Mitchell are all authors; The Angry Video Game Nerd is an Internet personality; Hayley Williams is a musician; RedLetterMedia is an Internet critic; Maddox is a writer; David Firth is a Flash animator; Troy Wagner is the creator of the Marble Hornets web series; and so on and so forth. So no, not just movie stars.

Ok, I would like to start with the fact that I am a huge Bro and am a large part of the Bro Army. I can agree, some of Pewdiepie’s jokes are offensive and are immature BUT he makes over 15 million people laugh. Now, everything has basically been covered here but I have one point. Everyone has a view. Some may not like the view of others. The thing is though, your all saying that all of Pewdiepie’s bros are a bunch of haters and faggots (Or as you called them Fantards and calling us young people with abysmally low standards.) Now, doesn’t that make yourself a hater?
As a second note on that topic, it appears most of your fanbase (The people who don’t like Pewdiepie) are also haters as it is. They go onto his Videos and Comment nasty things. They make Articles about how rubbish he is and a main subject, this article here.l Reading down the comments list, the amount of people I saw commenting things like “Pewdiepie is a faggot” or Pewdiepie is gay” ect. Also, the Idea of Hitler being Popular back in the day. That’s not something we should go comparing people to. Hitler was not popular. Hitlar was feared even by his main SS men ect. Comparing Pewdiepie to Hitler is much worse then any other HATE comments I have heard toward Pewdiepie so far. Most other times its just people being useless and calling him Gay (AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING GAY SO ITS NOT A VALID INSULT), Being a fag, being Stupid ect.
First of all, Frederick, the more vicious insults towards PewDiePie’s fans – I speak of terms such as “fantards” and “fags” – are things that have not been said by me personally and I will not take responsibility for the more typical haters saying the same things they normally say.
However, yes, I did claim that PewDiePie’s fame comes from pandering to young people with low standards; not that all of his fans are, but that his popularity comes from it. I said this because it’s the simple truth of the matter. The main demographic of many popular entertainment forms is teens or young people, which is because they’re the ones that are the easiest to please and make laugh since most of them are at a stage where their tastes haven’t evolved to a point where they acknowledge legitimate criticism, but it’s also because they’re the ones that use YouTube the most frequently.
Young people that are still easy to impress is a favorite demographic for two basic reasons: they’re the most common consumers and it doesn’t require effort to pander to their unevolved tastes. Hollywood thinks the same way by making lousy movies on purpose, knowing they will still make money regardless because the movie happens to feature, say, impressionable tween girl favorite Taylor Lautner or a song number by One Direction. When you have a demographic that you know will blindly approve of any shlock you put out and that demographic is seemingly the biggest one on YouTube, that’s what you’re gonna keep doing until you finally forget what true quality and wittiness ever even were.
Oh and you didn’t like the way I compared the Bro Army’s tendencies to use argumentum ad populum to someone using the same cop-out in the defense of Adolf Hitler? My point isn’t how the two people are as persons. My point is that just because you’re on top doesn’t mean you’re in the right. Again: argumentum ad populum. Look it up.
My only fault in making that comparison is that I was technically employing Goodwyn’s Law and for THAT I can apologize, but I’ve never really taken Goodwyn’s Law very seriously.

Im part of the bro army and a huge fan. 1st off its stupid that your making a video or commenting on how much you don’t like Pewdiepie. I understand a person’s view if they didn’t like someone but there is no need to be a hater. Just makes yourself look jealous. I just love how Pewdiepie is able to make entertaining videos and that those videos always make me laugh or smile especially considering im a different person like he was. Both of us grew up different from others and wasn’t really accepted by many people. So just back the fuck off and just leave Pewdiepie alone cause this hatred isn’t worth it. Your just creating drama. Not worth it. Plus, you shouldn’t really talk behind his back and he shouldn’t worry about you because behind his back is where you belong. [?] And for all the gossip about him, just makes it seem like he’s the center of your world. So do us a favor and shut the fuck up.
“Im part of the bro army and a huge fan.”
Are you really? This oughta be unlike anything I’ve ever replied to on this comment board.
“1st off its stupid that your making a video or commenting on how much you don’t like Pewdiepie. I understand a person’s view if they didn’t like someone but there is no need to be a hater.”
I’m going over the reasons as to why he isn’t funny. The typical hater doesn’t do that, so at least cut me SOME slack, will ya?
“Just makes yourself look jealous.”
Golly gee! No kidding? To think, I never would have thought of the possibility if you, Wolfbane, hadn’t pointed it out to me. Jealous. Why, I’ve never heard that one.
“I just love how Pewdiepie is able to make entertaining videos and that those videos always make me laugh or smile especially considering im a different person like he was. Both of us grew up different from others and wasn’t really accepted by many people. So just back the fuck off and just leave Pewdiepie alone cause this hatred isn’t worth it. Your just creating drama. Not worth it.”
Oh I’m sorry, is it “not worth it?” Worth what, exactly? What, in your opinion, was I trying to gain by writing this? What, besides criticizing his content, was my evil purpose behind this entire event? I’d actually like to hear your narrative.
“Plus, you shouldn’t really talk behind his back and he shouldn’t worry about you because behind his back is where you belong.”
I love how this part of the comment can basically be summarized as “You shouldn’t talk behind his back but he probably doesn’t care so lol it okey.” Also, what do you mean I’m talking behind his back? Do you mean I’m hoping to post this Internet article that can be read by everyone unbeknownst to PewDiePie? What are you gonna do next? Accuse me of hiding behind my anonymity even though this website contains photos of me plus links to my Facebook and Twitter?
“And for all the gossip about him, just makes it seem like he’s the center of your world. So do us a favor and shut the fuck up.”

I agree that he makes money. I agree he likes to fuck around.
But nobody donates $400, 000 to charity for image, unless you are a corporation.
He’s fully played through multiple horror games, often listed pros and cons when the game is completed.
The subtitles you refer to are in montages. (The noise ones. Otherwise its because he was speaking a different language than the majority fanbase.)
He showcases a lot of games developers are working on.
I appreciate your view and respect it as such.
However I feel your opinion is harsher than reality. A lot of your points are half-truths.
I don’t expect you to care.
Or change your mind.
Or even read this entirely.
If you are trying to convince someone that what you say is true, present some hard evidence. Screenshots, recordings, pictures. Otherwise you are just venting your opinion on a blog and it’s a waste.
Unless that’s what you wanted, then you’ve accomplished that at least.
Bottom line: Present evidence to follow through with your opinions. Otherwise you are slamming someone who doesn’t deserve it, simply because there isn’t evidence of what you are claiming.
Here we go again.
“I agree that he makes money. I agree he likes to fuck around.”
Well… yeah. Him making money and liking to fuck around are simple facts. I never said he DOESN’T make money. I only said that him making money off of his tired shtick makes him less certain to try doing something of higher quality.
“But nobody donates $400, 000 to charity for image, unless you are a corporation.”
Again, completely irrelevant to the observation I was making that he cares more about maintaining the cash flow than he does about being non-repetitive, but… oh fuck it, I’m tired of going over this.
“He’s fully played through multiple horror games, often listed pros and cons when the game is completed.”
If he does, then I have yet to find those videos. Bear in mind, I wrote this article over a year ago and haven’t exactly bothered going back to watching PewDiePie since then so he could very well have improved on the commentary. For what that’s worth.
“The subtitles you refer to are in montages. (The noise ones. Otherwise its because he was speaking a different language than the majority fanbase.)”
Okay, fair enough. A poor choice of words on my part. I have gone back to the article and changed “All his screams” to “Some of his screams”. So, what, did that change the fact that it isn’t funny? Did me making that mistake disqualify my opinion? Did I lose something?
“He showcases a lot of games developers are working on. I appreciate your view and respect it as such. However I feel your opinion is harsher than reality. A lot of your points are half-truths.”
Actually, so far the only supposedly fallacious points you’ve found are: one point you didn’t seem to completely understand, one that was nothing more than a poor choice of words and one that was true back when I said it. To quote Maddox: This is like telling the weatherman to make a retraction on today’s weather forcast if it changes tomorrow.
“I don’t expect you to care. Or change your mind. Or even read this entirely.”
Two out of three.
“If you are trying to convince someone that what you say is true, present some hard evidence. Screenshots, recordings, pictures. Otherwise you are just venting your opinion on a blog and it’s a waste. Unless that’s what you wanted, then you’ve accomplished that at least.”
That’s exactly what I wanted and I am going to take for granted that you’re not so foolish that you think that presenting evidence is a requirement someone needs to meet in order to have an opinion. What should I prove, do you think? Do I need to post links to the videos in which he repeats any of the unfunny gimmicks I mention? Can’t imagine they’re very hard to find.
All I’m saying is that PewDiePie is not funny. Want to argue about it? Cool. Explain why he is funny instead of trying to make up alleged fallacies within my points.
fuck youDecember 30, 2013 at 2:39 pm:
Fuck you. He makes people happy and saved lives. Whether you like it or not your to have to accept that. Now shut the fuck up, go back to your hole. You may think all he does it swear at a screen, but that’s not everything. He is so people’s only source of happiness and what do you want to do? Try and fucking kill it. So go shove your tiny dick up your ass because you’ll never be half as great as Felix Kjellberg, who might know him as PewDiePie.
“Fuck you. He makes people happy and saved lives.”
Which of course, completely defeats my criticisms of his content.
“Whether you like it or not your to have to accept that. Now shut the fuck up, go back to your hole.”
Yes, how about I just go back to my hole? Heh. Y’know, I’ve been receiving new hate comments on my PewDiePie post for over an entire year now and not once has a Bro done something even remotely close to legitimately offending me, but this one’s almost outright cute.
“You may think all he does it swear at a screen, but that’s not everything.”
You’re correct that the word “rape” is not technically a swear.
“He is so people’s only source of happiness and what do you want to do? Try and fucking kill it.”
Do I? Okay.
“So go shove your tiny dick up your ass because you’ll never be half as great as Felix Kjellberg, who might know him as PewDiePie.”
This comment makes me wonder what language’s variation of “also known as” comes out as “who might know him as” after you hastily run it through Google Translate. But you’re right, I’ll never become as good at screaming and cursing as PewDiePie so I might as well go sodomize myself. The logic of you fanboys is ever so spotless.
ExplosiveIsamuOctober 28, 2013 at 10:33 am:
Are you seriously comparing PewDiePie with two of the most ruthless and horrible characters in human history? What are you, an idiot?
Another person who doesn’t understand that I’ve simply been using the “you’re just jealous argument” in a context that perfectly illustrates how fundamentally stupid it is, huh? Check. Nothing new here, folks. We might as well call it a day.
